The Bachelor season 27 host Jesse Palmer revealed an unaired scene from Zach Shallcross’ The Women Tell All episode in which Brooklyn Willie shared a message for people going through domestic abuse. A survivor herself, Brooklyn opened up to Zach about her previous abusive relationship on their first one-on-one date. Brooklyn revealed that the relationship was very emotionally abusive to the point that she didn’t speak. She said that she was a shell of the person she was. The relationship even became physically abusive. Brooklyn said that for six whole years she was not herself. However, one morning, she summoned the strength to leave, and she never looked back.
On his Instagram page, The Bachelor’s Jesse Palmer posted an unseen clip from The Women Tell All special, in which Brooklyn shared a message for people who are in abusive relationships.
Jesse wrote in his caption that the scene “unfortunately didn’t air.” In the clip, Jesse told Brooklyn that he thought that one of the most powerful moments of the entire season was when she showed “tremendous bravery” and “unbelievable amounts of courage” when she spoke about her past abusive relationship. He told her that he thought she helped people at home who might be in a similar situation by opening up about domestic violence.

Jesse then asked Brooklyn what she would say to people at home who might be in abusive relationships. She responded, “First and foremost, that they are strong and courageous, and worthy of the love they deserve.” Brooklyn added, “But also that healing is not a linear journey. It is an active choice.” She expressed, “The hardest part is leaving, and to continue to choose yourself every day and to continue to heal because it does get better. Because you do deserve, and we all deserve, so much better than any of that.” Jesse concluded by saying, “Brooklyn, it’s such a powerful message,” and she thanked him.
The Bachelor season 27 The Women Tell All episode was full of important moments. From Genevie Mayo’s explanation of microaggressions, to Greer Blitzer’s discussion of the racist origins of blackface and her apology, the show did a much better job of tackling the sensitive topics that it usually sweeps under the rug. Jesse even admitted that The Bachelor has a history of dealing with sensitive topics poorly in the past. Although the producers had to make room for funny and lighter moments such as the blooper reel, they should have found time in the episode for this one minute clip to share Brooklyn’s important and inspiring message.
Brooklyn was so brave to share her story with the world. By speaking out about domestic abuse, she is helping others to get out of situations that are emotionally and physically violent. Brooklyn’s vulnerability and honesty in her moment with Zach transcended The Bachelor. It brought attention to the fact that people might find themselves in unhealthy relationships, and need guidance to find a way out. Brooklyn’s story is so inspiring, and her message is very important.
