The PUNCH: There are strong indications that the Rivers State All Progressives Congress led by immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, is angry about the romance between the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu’s men; and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.


The Guardian: The internal strife rocking the nation’s major opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) six months to presidential election did not show signs of abating yesterday as peace talks between the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, remained in abeyance.


This Day: The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor yesterday revealed that security forces have arrested the terrorists behind the attack on St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. Irabor, who made the disclosure during a parley with media executives at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, said the terrorists were arrested by the military in collaboration with other security agencies.


The Nation: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it has not accepted the nominations of Senate President Ahmed Lawan and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio as senatorial candidates for Yobe North and Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial Districts respectively.


Daily Trust: There is a brewing commotion over a deal in oil assets stakes transfer by ExxonMobil Limited to Seplat Energy Limited, an indigenous firm, following a ministerial assent and a regulatory decline on the move.
