The Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateaus state Simon Lalong has revealed the real reason why the leadership of the party chose the state for its official flag-off of the Bola Tinubu campaign.
At the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos, Plateau State venue of the Presidential campaign flag-off, Lalong noted that Jos was picked for Tinubu’s first rally despite being a Christian state because was the state where President Muhammadu Buhari was voted into power.
Lalong said:
“Jos is symbolic. It is here in Jos that late MKO Abiola from the southwest became the presidential candidate of the SDP with a running mate from the northeast, particularly a Kanuri man from Borno state.
“After 30 years, a man from the southwest chose a running mate from the northeast and a Knauri man, this means history is going to repeat itself that is why we are starting our campaign in Jos.
“We are in hurry to have Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as our next president. We will have more than 2/3 of members of the Senate and the House of Representatives.”
